The Museum for African Art is dedicated to increasing public understanding and appreciation of African art and culture. The Museum is recognized worldwide as the pre–eminent organizer of exhibitions and publisher of books devoted exclusively to historical and contemporary African art.

Guided Tours
Description: Guided Tours provide our visitors with docent-led tours of our exhibitions and related activities. These tours feature pre-visit preparatory materials and a dialogue with the visitors regarding exhibition themes.

Description: The Museum for African Art offers free interdisciplinary teachers' guides designed to allow educators to infuse themes from past exhibitions into their curricula.

Artist-in-Residence program
Description: The Artist-in-Residence program brings artists and performers who have worked extensively in Museum public programs into schools and after-school programs to conduct a hands-on experience on African art forms and culture. One-time workshops or multiple-session residencies may be scheduled according to the school's needs. Workshops may be modified to fit into ongoing curricula.
