Summer On the Hill
Mission:
Summer on the Hill is a year-round educational program dedicated to nurturing academically talented students whose socio-economic status prevents them from taking advantage of New York City’s varied academic resources. As the only enrichment program in New York that recruits public school children beginning in the second grade and works with them through high school, Summer on the Hill provides an unparalleled educational opportunity for promising public school students in the Bronx and upper Manhattan.
Summer on the Hill’s mission is to enrich the education of academically talented, disadvantaged students, prepare them for admission to schools that will keep them on the path to college, and offer guidance to their parents.

Academic Year Session
Description: In order to intensify our support for students during the school year, we have recently expanded our Saturday program. Our students now work with us from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. for eighteen Saturdays a year. This new expanded program allows each teacher more time with their classes, and provides our students with lunch and transportation - a great help for our busy parents.
On these Saturdays, Summer on the Hill students enjoy intensive sessions in language arts, science and math. Both teachers and students agree that the expanded schedule provides much-needed support for students during the school year.

Placement
Description: In addition to placing students in the school of their choice, Summer on the Hill is instrumental in helping students meet the financial demands of attendance. With the help of benefactors like the Niles Foundation, many of our students have been able to attend prestigious private high schools throughout the New York area. Our Alumni also have an excellent record of college placements as well.
