Its mission is to empower the people of Highbridge through a rainbow of services that include: counseling for families and children, adult basic education, job training, after school activities for youth, community improvement, organizing and many other services through a vast network of collaborative organizations spread across the Bronx.

Get & Give After School
Description: Get & Give After School is for 1-3rd grade and 4-8th grade students. Youth are involved in homework help, service opportunities, recreation, drug prevention workshop and enrichment club activities such as dance, drama and drumming.
The program runs Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, September – June.

Teen Program
Description: Teen Program is a workshop-based program for 9-12th grade students. It offers academic assistance, workforce development, service learning and the arts, among other areas. Educational field trips are taken throughout New York City on Fridays and extended days include discussion groups and basketball.
The program runs Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm-6:00 pm, from September to June, with extended days running until 8:00 pm.

Youth Growing Assets Process
Description: Youth GAP is a strength-based approach to youth development initiated by the Search Institute that assists young people to build assets, developmental building blocks youth need in order to thrive. Through regular contact with his/her counselor, youth work to increase their understanding of their strengths, skills, goals and needs, and to enable them to access the resources they need to help them develop into healthy, responsible and caring adults. Training and workshops are offered.

Saturdays Offers
Description: Saturdays offers literacy and other academic and recreation activities for youth ages 7 – 13 with family members engaged in HCLC adult education services.
The program runs Saturdays, 9:00 am-2:00 pm, from September to June.

Family Weekends
Description: Family Weekends provides opportunities for families engaged in HCLC programming to spend time together in a rural setting while participating in literacy and team-building activities.

Description: Summer Camp provides mentoring, academic enrichment, arts, recreation and service learning activities. Includes educational and recreational field trips throughout New York City.
