Kids With A Promise After School Program

Description: At four neighborhood sites in Manhattan, the Bronx, and Brooklyn, children in grades 1 through 6 participate in a variety of educational, cultural and recreational activities. Children receive three hours of enrichment daily to develop academic skills, leadership, and moral character.

During the After-School programs, children receive help with homework and a focus is placed on reinforcing classroom and project learning. Activities such as creative writing, painting, dance and drama are an integral part of the program as well.

Kids With A Promise Leadership Academy

Description: In order to successfully shepherd these children into their teenage years and beyond, Kids With A Promise began the Leadership Academy in 2005, pairing young teenagers (ages 13 to 15) with volunteer adult mentors. Mentors and teens meet together twice a month to form relationships of accountability, develop positive decision-making and problem-solving skills, and prepare for college or careers.

Mont Lawn Camp

Description: Nestled on the summit of Sugar Mountain in the heart of Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains is a 200 acre summertime refuge for New York City’s most at-risk children. With a legacy dating back to 1894, Kids With A Promise’s Mont Lawn Camp creates new opportunities for children from New York’s toughest neighborhoods.

Our campers experience swimming, boating, rock-climbing, camping, and the close attention of our caring staff.

Kids With A Promise Summer Day Camp

Description: A positive summer alternative for children in Manhattan and the Bronx, this one-month program incorporates arts, academics, and field trips.

During Day Camp, children enjoy music, drama, arts and crafts and recreation. Also, a particular focus is placed on academic enrichment, reinforcing subjects that are learned during the school year. In addition to academic and social enchrichment, weekly field trips open new worlds to the campers. Past excursions have included the American Museum of Natural History and Hayden Planetarium, Liberty Science Center, New York Botanical Garden, and the Adventure Land Amusement Park in Long Island.
