Junior Kumon

Description: Junior Kumon (JK) is a special program for students ages 3-5 in which we prepare them for learning and life. The JK Reading program focuses on emergent literacy skills and systematic phonics. JK Math entails developing a strong numeracy sense necessary to succeed in basic mathematics.

Fees for services: $150/month/subject

Kumon Math

Description: The Kumon Math curriculum has been a proven success for over 50 years around the world. After developing a strong number sense, students work in a step-by-step approach to mastering each new concept in math. The progrm is based on the traditional pencil and paper method of building on previous knowledge for new concepts and repetition of concepts when necessary. Every child is different, and, therefore, every student's lesson plan should be different. Kumon Math is completely individualized. The main goal is for students to learn independent study skills and study at advanced levels. The Kumon Math curriculum begins at number recognition and counting and goes through advanced calculus and statistics. Kumon Math is for every type of student, whether for remedial or enrichment.

Kumon Reading

Description: The mian goal of the Kumon Reading program is to enhance Reading Comprehension. We start in "learning to read" through systematic phonics and move through "reading to learn" in the many reading building blocks within the curriculum. In addition to the daily assignments, Kumon also provides the students with a private library stocked with award winning books for children of all ages.
