What I want to change in education: In six short years, I've seen education from many sides: that of a classroom teacher, that of a "teaching artist," and that of an administrator of arts in education programming. In the classroom, I saw the boons of a test-centered curriculum, and experienced the pitfalls that I believe far outweigh them. Since leaving the classroom three years ago, I've turned my gaze toward what learning looks like if it is to guide students in becoming creative, critically thinking and participatory citizens that tomorrow's world demands.
