The 1City Youth Project
Mission:
To enrich the lives of youth by integrating character-building and community service with free activities in sports and the performing arts. 1City registers students in grades 4 to 12 during the summer months and the month of September. Its program operates generally on Friday evenings and Saturdays from September to May.

STEP TEAM
Description: Double Impact and Tribute are the two step teams of our organization. Double Impact serves high school students, while Tribute serves middle school students. The step team is very popular having performed several times for local competitions and has made several appearances at Madison Square Garden.

DANCE TEAM
Description: We have two hip-hop dance teams. ROS serves high school students, while ShoTyme serves middle school students. We also have an inspirational dance group called ByDesign, which serves students in grades 4 to 12. We are in the process of beginning an African Dance group.

FASHION DESIGN & THE FUTURE OF 1CITY
Description: We have a fashion design program that has taught students who to accessorize and even make articles of clothing. Students have also made handbags, caps and jewelry. We also have a toddler modeling group called The Future of 1City. It works very closely with our Fashion Design Group.

BASKETBALL TEAMS
Description: We currently have five basketball teams: (a) The WARRIORS are a Co-Ed team which serves students ages 9 to 11; (b) The DIVAS are a girls' basketball team which serves students ages 12 to 15; (c) the TITANS are a boys' basketball team which serves students ages 12 to 15; (d) the LEGENDS are a girls' basketball team which serves students ages 16 to 18; (e) the KINGZ are a boys' basketball team which serves students ages 16 to 18. The teams play against other teams throughout the City.

FLAG FOOTBALL
Description: We are developing Flag Football teams for girls and boys ages 12 to 14 and boys ages 15 to 17. We hope to engage these students in citywide play, as well as league play.

DRAMA
Description: We have a drama program for students in grades 6 to 12 that teaches students very basic acting skills and also encourages them to write their own skits that relate to issues that concern teens.

VOICES OF 1CITY
Description: We have a choral program for students in grades 4 to 12 who love to sing. The chorus sings inspirational pieces and performs at local and citywide events.

Description: CitiVisionz is a visual arts group for students who express an interest in animation and other forms of Visual Arts. It serves students in grades 6 to 12.

YOUTH FRATERNITY
Description: Our youth fraternity is a social networking group for students in grades 6 to 12. Throughout the year, the group determines their own social action and community service projects. The fraternity is a lifelong membership opportunity.

PAC NETWORK
Description: The PAC Network is for aspiring dancers, singers, groups, poets, rappers and musicians and seeks to get them exposed by creating monthly opportunities for them to perform and "tour the City". The PAC Network is NOT an instructional program and serves youth in grades 4 to 12.

COMMUNITY SERVICES
Description: We assist high school students with obtaining much needed community service hours by creating venues in which they can teach and mentor middle school students who participate in our program. The high school students are supervised by experienced adults and upon completion, we serve as their professional reference and provide proof of service to the schools.
