Our mission is to ensure that the children in our centers develop the social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills they need to succeed by providing a secure, nurturing and educationally rich multicultural environment. We actively seek to involve parents and caregivers as our partners encouraging them to nurture the development of these critical skills in their children and empowering them to advocate effectively for their children.

Brooklyn Kindergarten Society
Description: Brooklyn Kindergarten Society (BKS) is a leading provider of early childhood education for children ages 2 1/2 to 6 years old in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights and Brownsville, three of New York City's lowest-income neighborhoods. We operate five centers, each licensed as a pre-school by the NYC Department of Health, offering a full-day, year-round program for 354 pre-school children and an after-school program for 45 elementary school children.
