Breakthrough New York at The Town School increases educational opportunity for motivated public middle school students and encourages talented high school and college students to pursue careers in education.
Breakthrough New York at The Town School is affiliated with a national collaborative of sites who are engaged in the same students-teaching-students model. As one of 26 sites nationwide, we work closely with our national collaborative to share ideas, recruit teachers, and coordinate fundraising.

Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America
LEDA is a non-profit college access organization devoted to developing leaders for our nation by helping public high school students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds gain admission to the country's leading colleges and universities. LEDA's mission is to cultivate young and gifted talent.
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.
City Prep
City Prep is a 501c3 non-profit educational organization dedicated to improving the schooling of the bright and talented minority youth in the South Bronx.
The Albert G. Oliver Program
The mission of The Oliver Program is to cultivate a new generation of leaders by providing exceptional youth of Latin and African American descent with access to selective boarding and day schools and continued support for achieving their future academic and professional goals.

The TEAK Fellowship helps talented New York City students from low-income families gain admission to and succeed at top high schools and colleges. Along with academic support, TEAK provides leadership training, exposure to the arts and outdoors, mentoring, career experience, and assistance with the high school and college application processes.

Blige, and Harry Belafonte. Robbi K presents interactive concerts suited for dancing to jazz, pop, and world music grooves for today’s kids & parents. Her shows combine music, theater, and culture with a worldview to bring a sense of the world community to family audiences, Robbi sings and speaks in many tongues with award winning CD’s that attest to the fact that children truly understand the meaning of culture and that our differences are opportunities for celebration.

Arts Horizons brings the power, the joy and positive influence of the arts into the lives of young people by making music, visual art, dance, drama, new media and creative writing an integral part of learning and teaching. Multicultural assemblies, artist-in-residence programs, classroom and family workshops, and professional development for teachers offer schools exciting opportunities to integrate arts into the curriculum for Grades PreK-12, including youth at-risk and students with special needs.

Writopia Lab
1) Provide young people with the creative inspiration and intellectual environment that may not be available to them at school. 2) To help each student become comfortable with expressing himself on paper and to ultimately cultivate (or maintain) a love of writing in each of them. 3) Create and sustain a diverse community of young writers who find commonalities in a shared passion for ideas and expression. 4) Offer discounted or waived fees to at least 40% of workshop participants. 5) Provide an open, safe, and nurturing space for young people who are highly engaged in creative and intellectual endeavors. 6) Provide an open, safe, and nurturing space for young people who struggle with verbal and written expression. 7) Identify ways that creative youth who struggle academically can use their gifts to further their academic success.
