THE NEW TEACHER UNDERGROUNDSummer 2012 Workshop Series for Newer TeachersSundays in July 4 - 6 PM July 1 - Identity in the classroom July 8 - Antiracist pedagogy July 15 - Resisting the deficit model July 22 - Culture and community July 29 - Queering the curriculum The Cherry Tree (South Brooklyn Pizza) 65 4th Ave., Brooklyn Atlantic Av - Pacific St (D, N, R, 2, 3, 4, 5, B, Q) The New Teacher Underground (NTU) is back for a second summer of gatherings for incoming and newer teachers. NTU, a working group of New York Collective of Radical Educators, is a social space for newer and alternatively certified teachers to find support and dissect the realities of education in NYC. Through educating ourselves, we strive to be empowered both in and out of the classroom. Each workshop will revolve around a short reading and activity exploring a critical topic in education. | ||
