Fresh Prep Institute: The Fresh Prep Institute is the four-day professional development workshop series that complements the Fresh Prep curriculum packages offered by Urban Arts Partnership. The purpose of the Institute is to train educators on how to successfully integrate the Fresh Prep curriculum into their classrooms. The Fresh Prep Institute will focus on the specifics of Hip-Hop pedagogy and how to incorporate best practices into your classroom. It will also explore Fresh Prep’s thematic approach to Regents review for the U.S. and Global History exams. Lastly, the institute will allow you to network with other Fresh Prep educators within our cohort and see Fresh Prep in action. You will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, meet Fresh Prep Masters of Curriculum (MCs), and take part in creating interactive teaching techniques using the Fresh Prep curriculum. Instructional materials in a variety of media are provided to participants to use in their classrooms, and together with Fresh Prep staff, teachers will prepare new instructional materials for use in their own classrooms!Dates:The four-day professional development series will kick off with the two-day Introduction to Fresh Prep PD series. The Intro Series will take place on January 30-January 31, 2012. There will also be a mid-semester check in on March 23, 2012, and an end-of-year review on June 7, 2012. | ||
