Leading Your Students to a Bright Economic Future: Building a High School Economics Course provides instruction, lesson demonstrations, and classroom resources to empower high school educators in instructing and engaging their students in key economic content areas. The Council for Economic Education’s (CEE’s) Voluntary National Content Standards in Economics is used to organize the conceptual framework of the course. Instruction across all economic concepts is aligned to active learning strategies that can be used effectively in leading any high school classroom. All educators who successfully complete the course will receive a customized set of tools designed to be used in preparing or enhancing their high school economics course. Educators enrolled in the course will be introduced to simulations and other student activities that represent a best-in-class leadership approach to engaging student learning in economics. During the course, participants will build an economics course syllabus, develop student assessments, and design instructional activities to motivate students and measure academic progress.
