Iridescent Learning is hosting a workshop at our 6th Annual Education Expo!
At this workshop, Iridescent Learning engineer students will come up with an engineering challenge for kids, and the attendees of the workshop will have 45 minutes to complete this challenge. Iridescent Learning will use their hands on technique to engage the kids in science and engineering learning. Fun for the whole family!

Look no further than your public library! In Queens, fully 12% of its 6.8 million volumes are in foreign languages. Brooklyn (with 10%) comes in a close second followed by the New York Public Library (serving Manhattan, Bronx, and Staten Island) with 8%. (NY Times)

The New York Botanical Garden will be hosting two workshops at the 6th Annual K-12 Expo on March 10th:
- Make Your Own Bog with a Venus Fly Trap! (bring your kids!)
- Bringing a Garden to your School (for parents / teachers)
In the meantime, they have provided some insight into how best to explore nature this winter. Enjoy, and mark your calendars to see them in-person come March!

A Washington Post blog notes the arrival of nearly 200,000 digitized documents at The King Center’s website this past Monday (1/16). An amazing collection filled with thousands of photos, letters, notes, and pictures -- among many, many other items -- this is an experience that’s not to be missed. (via The Answer Sheet)

The Story Pirates will be performing improv at the 6th Annual K-12 Expo!
We have been working with the Story Pirates for years, but we are not the only ones who are excited about them. Check out this quote from Jon Stewart:

Ramapo for Children will be doing two workshops at our 6th Annual K-12 Expo! Both workshops will be on Managing Difficult Behavior: one for younger children and one for older children. Last year this workshop completely filled up and got rave reviews, so you don't want to miss it this year!
