Schools, check it out. NYC is filled with many great (and FREE) organizations helping our children and schools with curriculum support, workshops, arts programs, tutoring programs, math/science programs, etc. These programs continue to sign up with LinkEducation everyday. But, given everything on your plate, where do you find time to search for new opportunities?? Let us help you…every week we'll give you a quick "Round Up" of the latest and greatest resources added to LinkEducation. Take 5 minutes out of your week to see if there is a program out there that solves a challenge in your school.
Here's the first round up!
- Free Programs for your School by Solar One! Solar One provides Free programs for K-12 on topics such as renewable energy, sustainable design, urban ecology, and environmental art. The courses can be brought into your school or you can bring your school/class to their facilities. Take advantage of this great opportunity to bring applied experiential learning opportunities to your students through science, design & art.
- Bring Cultural Arts to the Classroom: Flamenco Vivo Carlota Sanatana arts-in-education programs use the rich and powerful art form of Flamenco to build understanding and communication between young people of different cultures. Programs include school performances, afterschool community programs, and professional development for teachers!
- Visit the Theater! Get $10 student tickets to an innovative production of Romeo and Juliet: Classic Stage Company presents plays from the past that speak directly to issues of today. Romeo & Juliet is a timeless classic which the Classic Stage Company's Young Company is performing throughout February. They also offer in-school workshops and productions for young people of all ages and backgrounds
- Let Kids Be Kids - In a Safe Location: Youth Connection has a drop-in center that is a safe and confidential place for your students (14-24) to meet one another with free food, snacks, refreshments, music, peer support, adult supervision, and education. It is a place to let these students learn more about themselves, meet others, and have a great time. Take a look at the other opportunities this program provides...
