PARENTS ARE EMPOWERED BY NEW WEBSITE TO FIND THE RIGHT EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR THEIR KIDS ONLINE
LinkEducation.org Re-Launches with Major Improvements; Rolls Out New Features to Enable Parents in NYC to Find the Right Program from Hundreds of Options
New York, NY, July 23, 2008 - In its mission to unify parents, schools, and education nonprofits around the shared goal of improving public education for all kids, LinkEducation re-launches its award winning website—LinkEducation.org. The new site contains vast improvements designed to provide something that has never before existed – a virtual community where NYC’s parents and educators are able to come together online, sort through countless education-related programs and resources in their neighborhoods, and find the right program for each child.
By rolling out LinkEducation.org version 2.0, the website has strengthened its ability to address a core problem parents face when attempting to find educational programs for their kids. A plethora of public and charter schools, after-school programs, summer camps, and many more educational programs exist in New York City (many of which are either free or very affordable), but finding them is another matter. Until LinkEducation.org there was no comprehensive place a parent could go to look for the kinds of education opportunities that would be most appropriate to their children.
What the newly re-launched LinkEducation.org offers is a searchable listing of programs operating in every NYC public school, hundreds of education opportunities (with even more on the way) organized into user-friendly categories, and an event calendar of education events in the city. For parents who want to help their children succeed but aren’t sure where to start, the new website enables them to consider the many options available for their child’s learning beyond the programs offered by the local public school. (The website also offers a tremendous amount of resources for teachers and education professionals.)
Says Rachel Beard, President and Co-Founder, “We are extremely proud of how far LinkEducation.org has come in just six months. Since first launching we have been collecting feedback from hundreds of parents and teachers on how to make the website even better. We are confident that the redesign will have tremendous impact on their ability to find quality programs right in their communities that they may have missed before.”

About LinkEducation
LinkEducation addresses the core problem that parents too often miss free or low-cost education opportunities for their children because vast segments of the education community work in silos, making the education system difficult to navigate.
LinkEducation connects children with education opportunities by making it possible to find education-related resources in local communities. Parents, guardians, educators, and community members can easily find quality and affordable education programs such as after school tutoring, homework
help, and alternative schools simply by entering their zip code and key words. Programs on the LinkEducation website are geared toward children in grades Pre-K through 12.
